Can I get a movie from my iPad to my tv without the av cable from the apple store?
Just spend $700+ on the iPad I'm not running to buy a $50 cable…plz gi e some a dive on wat I can do I wnna watch the movie has a family on our tv not on the iPad r there any other options…thnnksz:)

Here is my experiece – while avoiding to buy a $50 cable:
I have bought 2 different ipad "COMPOSITE" cables [red/wht/ylw] & it came with the USB & OUTLET-PLUG….anyway bought 1st 1 from Seller on Amazon – sometimes I heard audio, but never saw Video – got a refund [$6]. then I bought 1 on Ebay – the cables did not fit [returned cables & wtg on Refund of $14].
called Apple 2x [and when I mentioned during the 2nd call that my TV Manual does not say Composite, but it says COMPONENT, then he said that I need the component cable.
The INFORMATION - on the Apple Site, about which cable is needed for the ipad connection to TV - is NOT CLEAR & SPECIFIC. If you google words such as: [AV cable to watch movies on tv from ipad], Google directs you to the Apple COMPOSITE AV Cable – which does not bring AudioVisual to my TV.
I have not yet given up on "the idea" of watching videos/movies from my ipas on my TV. I'm going to try an [APPLE] COMPONENT AV CABLE – these hv 5 cables, USB, & OUTLET-PLUG.
TIP: Druing the phone call, Apple Rep. did say to use the USB to plug into the OUTLET-PLUG, to the wall, to keep the Ipad charged while watch vidoes/movies on the tv thru the ipad.
