Apple announces new iPad fee-based service plan for battery replacement. The cost is $99 plus shipping charges.
The Apple iPad will probably face some problems if their battery ever needs a replacement. these batteries are built right into the iPad tablet, making it less convenience for users, but the company has announced a new service plan. Many people are skeptical and critics don’t like the idea.
Replacement comes with the condition that the iPad battery will not be replaced in case of disastrous damages caused to the phone or battery due to liquid contact. this also goes for unlicensed modifications or accidents. The plan will cost the user $99 for the service, plus an additional $6.95 for shipping charges.
However, the replaced battery may not be a new one. this means that a customer might receive a rebuilt iPad. Customers are advised to maintain a backup copy of their user settings before submitting the phone for the battery replacement. The service plan procedure involves all settings to be reset by Apple.
However, there are other reports that suggest customers might get a brand new iPad. other reports suggest that it might be a rebuilt unit. this isn’t anything new because if a customer’s iPhone battery dies, they still have to send it in for a replacement.
iPad is a new device by Apple. there are still questions and concerns over the lifetime of the battery. Some critics believe that it’s nothing more than a business model for Apple to make another $99 for each customer through servicing.
Apple Tablet Offers Similar Functionality as iPhone and iPod Touch
The iPad is the first tablet computer developed by Apple. it was announced on 2010, and resembles a smart phone and laptop computer. it is also similar in functionality to the iPhone and iPod touch.
It runs a modified version of the iPhone operating system. The applications for the gadget have also been redesigned to take advantage of the larger screen. The screen has added functionality similar to their Mac OSX counterparts.
The iPad has a 9.7-inch LED backlit multi-touch display with a pixel resolution of 1024×768. it has 16 to 64 gigabytes of flash memory and a 1-gigahertz Apple A4 processor. it comes with Bluetooth 2.1, and a 30-pin dock connector to sync with iTunes and to connect with other wired accessories.
As of March 2010, customers in the United States are able to pre-order the iPad. The iPad is to go on sale ion April 3 for the Wi-Fi version. The Wi-Fi 3G version will be available near the end of April.
The launch date is slightly later than anticipated, as the Wi-Fi model was expected to be released worldwide at the end of March. The Wi-Fi 3G iPad will be unlocked so it can be used on other mobile carriers that support GSM micro-SIMs. The 3G service will be provided by AT&T.
